Two races of bison are recognized: Plains Buffalo and Wood Buffalo of Canada. Their number was reduced to 750 in 1890. They were then protected and now number about 80,000. Bison live only in parks and reserves.

 
 


Who We Are

Rick Flory is an entrepreneur and conservationist who founded Earth Friends Wildlife Foundation in 1995. Earth Friends is a public foundation committed to using its resources to support the work of wildlife protection groups and National Parks. Rick started delivering pizzas during college in 1974, and over the next 28 years he built the second largest Dominos Pizza franchise organizations in the U.S. Having sold his business, he now devotes full time to Earth Friends as a second life's career. Earth Friends currently supports more than 100 environmental organizations and many National Parks in finding multiple matching sources of funding. Currently on the board of directors for Glacier, Saguaro and Grand Teton National Park Foundations he is also on the boards for Cox Charities and his church. Earth Friends has headquarters in Jackson, Wyoming and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Lee Robert is Executive Director of Earth Friends Wildlife Foundation. A public speaker, singer, and author whose most recent book was published by Simon and Schuster, Lee considers herself a "Common-sense Conservationist" who recognizes the need for partnership among the concerns of business, wildlife interests and the community.
